Christmas Loot 2008

As we approach yet another new year, I want to wish you all a merry Christmas, or whatever the hell you celebrate. It doesn’t matter, as we all know that this time of year is about getting free stuff, and that’s a universal ideal. Except for the poor people, but they don’t have internet so who cares.

This year’s loot, left to right, top to bottom. (Not pictured: Guitar Hero World Tour with one of the new guitars with the neck slider, and lots of candy)

- Lucky Star LE 4, even though I don’t have vol. 3. Wishlist reading FAIL.

- A friggin 2000 piece puzzle. My mother and I sit around and do these things whenever I’m home on break.

- Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash. The first in a series of books my father bought me so that I’ll spend more time reading and less time watching anime (which he thinks is creepy. More on that later).

- I Can Has Cheezeburger Collection.

- A book with a big Dick on the cover.

- The Most Popular Book in the Whole World. It’s a Twilight parody. I know the girl who did the cover illustrations. I also appear as a hobo in the back of the sequel. Don’t ask.

- Trigun Maximum 13. This manga is confusing.

- Another book.

- Rick and Bubba’s 14 Years and Still no Award CD. A local radio station that manages to be hilarious every once in awhile, and the CD’s are a collection of the great moments. I’m acquainted with Rick, which is probably why I started listening to them in the first place.

- A Colbert Christmas Special. If you don’t own this, you are not an American.

- Tales of the Abyss. If I don’t post again until mid-January, this is why.

-House Season 4. More adventures with Howse, Prettyhairs and Company.

- A TicTacToe Rubix Cube. I don’t get it.

- Lots of gift cards. The Best Buy card will go towards Black Lagoon s2 vol1 steelcase, which my father refused to purchase on account of incestuous, murderous children. This is why he thinks anime is creepy. That and all the little girls. He doesn’t know the half of it.

- Metroid Prime 3. Finally.

- Mushishi 2 and 6. Took me too long to get these. The story of why I’m just now getting volume 2 probably appears somewhere in this blog’s archives.

- And lastly, a box of holographic playing cards with cats. I like cats.

The Tales of the Abyss anime convinced me to get the game (that and a ton of praise over the years), so that’s what I’ll probably be playing for the rest of break. Other than Black Lagoon and L*S 3, all I still need to get right now is some American comics and Sunshine Sketch volume 2, which I’ll need to get online since comic stores suck down here.
