Pardon the delay, but it’s Thanksgiving Break and I’ve finally gotten around to picking up Metal Gear Solid 4, which I’ll make a post on tomorrow after I play around with it a bit more. Maybe I’d have liked the game better if the Gekko were constantly shouting that they wanted to eat Snake.
Probably not.
Episode 8 was musically themed, but sadly they went with Engrish music, which to me has always been the pinnacle of hilarity, something that doesn’t really mesh with this series. The scene where Janis’ song causes the robots to halt their attack gave me unwelcome visions of Macross F’s Ranka Lee in my head (Macross F was unwelcome. Ranka on the other hand is always welcome). It’s sad when you begin to associate a particular theme with a bad series, especially when it pops up in a good one. I actually had trouble watching V for Vendetta on the 5th because the only thing I could think of when I saw V’s mask was fucking Anonymous, but that’s not important.
The scenery in this episode was brilliant, and we finally get to see Casshern use his jet boosters. I’m still hoping he can take the things off his hips and shoot people with them, but maybe I’ve got my hopes set too high. Sins has provided some pretty cool battles already, but Casshern versus an army topped it all. My only complaint is that they really overdo the silly sound effects (clang, swish, pew pew, etc), but I guess that could be viewed as a plus by some people.
This week’s (well, last week’s at this point) beauty was Janis, who, despite her good looks, was less appealing to me than the last girl, though it was nice that she wasn’t a psychopath since the whole attempted murder thing can be a bit of a turn off. The episode was once again full of cute Ringo shots. I could make a damn album of all the cute faces she makes. It’s nice to see that she’s moved on from her fear of Casshern to the point that she actually smiles and thinks about him when she sees all the robots he’s killed. Or maybe she isn’t sadistic and she was smiling about the song she heard. Either way, she’s adorable. Am I stressing that point too much?
Episode 9 looks depressing, but it’s also got another girl for Casshern’s harem. What a pimp.

Janice was the most appealing to me by far throughout the series. Also the songs were not Engrish but in good English, Americanized. Strangely enough, the girl who sang the songs is also in Casshern Sins, but as another character, Lyuze (whom I cannot remember whether it was the girl following Casshern to revenge her sister, or the one with Dio).
Ha, that’s interesting to hear (and Lyuze is the one seeking revenge).
this episode sucked

also if you think that’s good english then english is clearly not your first language
