Woah woah woah. My judgment of this episode from last week’s preview was way off. Not nearly the lighthearted episode I expected it to be, though the last few minutes were far more bright and hopeful than this series has been in the past.
First off, just because Ringo appears once in the preview, I should not assume she’ll be playing a major role in the episode. I actually like the way they did this. First we center on Casshern’s encounter with the new character of the week, and then we center on that character’s encounter with Ringo and Oji after their perspective has been altered by Casshern. My second miscalculation was that the new girl was a cute, friendly human. That bitch was crazy and she certainly wasn’t human. On the other hand, she was quite attractive, so I got that right. I’m really loving the female character designs in this series (other than that manly chick from last episode).
There’s not much to say about this episode. It was probably the least eventful we’ve seen yet, but also the most meaningful. The bell tower really came to life when it rang, and I imagine it must be a wonderful feeling to find something beautiful in such an ugly world.
I’m already looking forward to the next episode as it looks like we’ll be meeting yet another gorgeous woman, and Ringo’s in the preview so I have to wonder if it will be the same kind of situation as this episode. What I’m not looking forward to is having to use a shitty sub group that doesn’t QC their releases :/

Shinsen’s Casshern release is doing what fansubs haven’t done in years, which is alternating between English translation/romanji for the op lyrics each week. AND I LOVE IT.
But for some reason their font is Accidental Presidential or something, not like that matters.
I skip the OP so I hadn’t noticed, but I like that. I never have been a big fan of their font. It’s nice to keep it simple, but big and white is too in your face. If they toned down the size a bit, I’d be happy.
Also, it’s “Romaji”.
