I was waiting until I had seen 3 more series until I posted, only to remember that I had seen 3 more series. Awhile ago. Gotta love my short term memory.
Tetsuwan Birdy Decode was certainly a forgettable experience for me, evidenced by the fact that I, well, forgot I watched it. I can’t decide whether I’m into the action and humor enough to enjoy what appears to be a rather unoriginal series. The only hook the show has is the idea of the lead male and female sharing a body, but that’s more of a downer when I think about it. I’m expecting to watch this one for the mindless entertainment over any plot they might try to force down my throat.
Secodnly, Natsume Yuujinchou is a definite favorite of the new season. It’s a very melancholic tale about the intensity of loneliness. This sounds incredibly boring, but don’t worry. It’s got a cat.

And by the very nature of cats, we can automatically assume that this will be the best show of the season.
And damn, look at that face. I’d like to believe he is looking down onto this page right now, reading the statement below the image and wondering why I have such faulty logic. There are little bits of humor here and there that manage to keep the series from being completely depressing, but it’s still got an unpleasant atmosphere about it that really gets to me. Somehow I’ve come away from the first two episodes extremely satisfied.
The last of the three is Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. Despite the fact that the show bored me and offered nothing to stop me from dropping it immediately, I’ll probably give it a 3 episode test. The humor didn’t click, the girls were either dumb or just unattractive, and as much as I like Mamiko, the voice that she does for the main character (and Clannad’s Kotomi, for another example) is not moe at all. It sounds like the character has breathing problems and has to fight for every gasp of air just to speak. Sure, it’s fine in cases where it’s appropriate (e.g. Mnemosyne’s Rin when she’s hot and bothered by the presence of an angel), but not all the damn time.
In fact, I wont be following this show anymore as I just re-watched the first episode to help myself make this post, and it’s really quite terrible. Be in awe of my indecisiveness. If I ever do pick it back up, it will be the result of numerous positive reviews of the later episodes. As it stands, I’m really not a fan of these types of romantic comedies.
Still waiting on decent subs of the new Bones show, as this PSN shit is ridiculous.
Natsume is pretty boring. I’ll give it the three episode test but seriously shit sux
