No images in this week’s post as I’m already late and I’m feeling lazy. So since the season is halfway over, I’ll just talk some more about what I want to see.
The writers have made it painfully obvious that nothing is easy in the Geass Universe. Every episode must end in DORAMA, every truth must be revealed as a lie, and every character needs to alter their allegiance after every few episodes. And once a character has gone through enough of this crap, then they get the wonderful opportunity to die needlessly just to keep the viewers on their toes. I’d make some comment about how you can only twist the plot so far before it breaks, but they broke it a long time ago.
It is quite refreshing though to watch an episode that works as well as this one did, but all I could do is hope that we can actually take it at face value. I want what we saw to be what we can expect. I don’t desperately want Orange to join Lulu because it would be cool, I simply want them to join up because it would be nice for one of the characters to tell the fucking truth for once. And it would be nice if the writers would stop giving false clues every single episode, so I’m also really hoping that Roro is the one who killed Shirley. Yes, the mystery is what makes the series interesting, but there’s more than enough mystery in the fact that we still know practically nothing about many of the characters’ pasts, we’re still in the dark about many of the characters’ intentions, and we don’t need to bring up and resolve 50 questions per episode when there’s a thousand more still unanswered.
As much as I like the turn that the show has supposedly taken, I find myself wanting it to go back to the laughable mess it has been recently, since they’ve pretty much screwed the show already and I can’t see them fixing it very well at this point. I’m thinking these next few episodes may be the best of the season if we can avoid the angst over Shirley.
Note: As of this episode, many more people have been expressing interest in Sayoko. Took you guys long enough :3
Tomorrow I will be making a huge post around midday on everything I should have talked about these last 2-3 weeks but didn’t.
“I want what we saw to be what we can expect.”
I can certainly agree with that.
I like the twists of Code Geass since it makes me retain enough interest to watch each week as the episodes come out, but I agree that they need to lay off bringing in more questions when there’s already so much we don’t know.
As a side note, I like the Mistakes of Youth icon. c:

Ego boost +1 for Wildarmsheero.
I like not knowing what’s going on in a particular episode if it keeps me interested. I don’t like that we still have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the background when we’re 38 episodes in. But the scenes with Cornelia and V.V. look like they’ll be fruitful with information.
Well it’s true~ x3
There might be some backstory coming up soon, though, since drawings of loli C.C. were released.
