Fanservice and lulz are back with a vengeance! And so are the parallels with the first season, though I haven’t cared enough to follow them episode to episode. There are so many things to keep up with in this series that I can’t be buggered to try anymore.

So Sayoko is Lulu v2, and she’s getting some speaking lines, which is satisfying. She even wears her maid cap under the wig. How is this possible? I find myself getting annoyed by most of the other characters, even the ones I used to like. The whole series is getting rather tiring. Luckily we’ve got some new Knightmare frames, namely the Shinkirou, which is easily my favorite since the Gawain.

The parallel with season 1 I was referring to is the fact that S1 ep 11 was the first time we see someone come into contact with C.C. and her memory-recalling powers. While it was accidental, we do see that Anya has memories of Lulu, Nunnaly and their parents, so I’d be willing to believe she was a childhood friend of some sort, though the fact that Lulu doesn’t remember her may be a result of Charles’ Geass. Either that or the fact that she’s unmemorable, which is easier to believe :P

I can’t take the show seriously after it went Dragonaut on me. All this talk about the “power of love” and girls with large breasts is bringing back bad memories of that series, and the moment I even associate it with Code Geass is the moment I realize r2 is nothing like the first season. It’s truly laughable. I mean, the preview for the next episode is hilarious.

How do you expect me to look at Lelouch the same way ever again? Sayoko is making him look about as gay as every other male in this series (except the whole kissing Shirley fiasco). To put it simply, I’m in the painful transitioning phase brought about by acknowledging that this show is not what it used to be. Do I still like it? Yeah, and I still look forward to every episode, but I’m not giving it nearly as much thought anymore, and I’m certainly not going to post anything like my analysis of Roro’s Geass again.
I am losing my will to blog this series episodically, but I made a commitment which I plan to uphold. Maybe I’ll be more enthusiastic about it next week.
I’ll go over just three things and call it a day.
1. I’m not exactly too pleased with some of the latest episodes either, especially the end of this arc, and I’d agree the show as a whole isn’t at its best either.
2. Having said that, I still get some entertainment from the show and expect that the second half of R2 will force the Geass plot to come into the forefront, which should be an improvement if nothing else.
3. I really can’t agree with you about comparing this to Dragonaut, except very vaguely. The “power of insert some word” thing is much older than that, and it was basically a conversation point here, not some force or whatever it was in that other show. Even the boobs don’t look quite as retarded as those at least two Dragonaut character had (can’t even remember their names).
Ah, Sayako likes to have fun :D
Yeah the Dragonaut thing wasn’t an attempt to say that the shows are alike in any way, just that the phrase made me think of that pile of shit, and I can’t help but get bad vibes whenever I hear it.
