Code Geass R2 Ep. 7

So what do episodic bloggers talk about when an episode is boring? I already mentioned the awkward gay vibes that Roro is giving off, which (thank god) were easy to ignore since I was still caught up in the image of Kallen’s trembling lips. I guess I’ll talk about the future of the show, and where I want things to head. The obvious goals of the characters are these:

Lulu: Keep Nunnally safe, maybe free Japan while he’s at it, find out who killed his mother, discard Roro.

Charles and V.V. : Kill god

C.C. : None?

Kallen: Free Japan, Marry Lulu

Kaguya: Marry Lulu

Shirley: Marry Lulu

Roro: Marry Lulu, goddamn it.

The major plot points of the episode were another one of C.C.’s “conversations” with Marianne (Lulu’s dead mother), and Zero’s decision to comply with Nunnaly’s peace brigade. I don’t know what to think of either one. I’m still hoping it’s all one big conspiracy to prepare Lulu as the next successor to the throne, but I really don’t see how he’s going to get anywhere when he’s openly accepting peace talks. Not that he could get anywhere otherwise, with only one Knightmare. The dude should just quit like Roro asked and start up a family circus.

God, this show has so much potential for hilarity.

I understand that we still have most of the season ahead of us, but I still wonder how much will focus on the world, and how much will focus on this killing god nonsense. Will Lulu defeat the evil dictator only to find out after the timeskip that Charles was the only one standing between humanity and creatures from space bent on destroying them all? Is Jupiter really a giant spaceship? When will Roro start calling Lulu “aniki”? Have I taken this joke too far?

Edit: I realized this post had no shitty photoshops, so…

I think we can all rest easy knowing that in 20 years, George Lucas won’t release a special edition of Code Geass where he’s edited in Hayden Christensen’s ghost.
