Before I talk about the Spring Season, I’d like to make a few points about my blog’s shitty update schedule. If you don’t care, please feel free to scroll down past Otoha-san and continue reading from there.
1. My shitty update schedule is only in part due to laziness, and has nothing to do with a dislike for blogging. I very much enjoy this.
2. It is very difficult to avoid a shitty update schedule when trying to juggle this blog, too much anime, a job (finally got one. Otakon here I come :3), and the occasional video game.
3. I think I’ve probably started more posts with an apology for (or a mention of) my shitty update schedule than is necessary.
4. I’m sorry I have a shitty update schedule.
Anyways, in an effort to keep the promises I’ve made and already broken on multiple occasions about updating more often, I am going to start making more random short posts about nothing in between the posts with actual content. If I end up liking the feel that these posts give to the blog, then they’ll stay.
On a random note before I get things started, the Sky Girls DVD Specials are ridiculous.

Spring season is not a failure. Thank God. It’s had a few downers, but overall I’m far from disappointed. Here’s my thoughts in no particular order.
Chi’s Sweet Home: Picked this one up because of the cat. Immediately loved the cat. Watched the cat take a bath, play with shoelaces, and pee on everything. Played with a real cat yesterday and forgot they have claws. Bled a lot.
Allison to Lilia: I think I may have gotten 5 minutes in before deciding to drop this one. It wasn’t my kind of story Actually, because I barely watched it, I can’t even say how I felt about the story. I dropped this solely because of its design, and considering how much I hate the way it looks, I know I will be unable to enjoy the series
Macross Frontier: I figured I might as well watch it. It seems pretty good after one episode, and it certainly has potential. The action scenes were exhilarating, which is a good sign. I guess I’ll really be watching it for the neko-nyan girl. Is that so wrong?
To-Love-Ru: I don’t get how people can subject themselves to this, but I guess with ecchi series, it’s all about two things: the comedy, and whether or not you are actually turned on by the fanservice. This show did not make me laugh, nor did it make me hot and bothered. It made me sad. Sad that people like this shit.
Kanokon: “Oh my Jesus.” accurately sums up my thoughts on this series. I find this show to be incredibly attractive, and at the same time, amusing enough to keep me interested. Sadly, anyone could make the same comments about Kanokon as I have about To-Love-Ru, but in my frank opinion, those people are either blind or retarded. The thing about Kanokon is that I can actually enjoy it despite what it is. I’ve never enjoyed an ecchi series, but to explain it in simple words, none of the ones I’ve watched in the past were this bonerific.

Blassreiter and Druaga – Two Gonzo shows. Two very different Gonzo shows. The difference being that one of them was complete shit, and the other one was hilarious and misleading. I dropped them both after the first episode (well, I dropped Blassreiter after the first minute, really :V ) because I don’t feel like watching Gonzo right now unless they can make me laugh. Had Druaga remained a comedy I’d have been all for it.
Kure-nai: Withholding judgment for a little while, but I think it has the potential to be a favorite. It all depends on how much of a brat the little girl turns out to be.
Code Geass: I didn’t really say much beyond what I wanted to see out of the series in my previous post, but I really liked the first episode. I’m glad they didn’t bother to answer any questions yet, since the answers themselves are what will make or break the story for me, but none of that really matters once Zero is back in business. I can’t wait to see what absurdities he’ll accomplish this season. Maybe they’ll tell us how he sees out of that helmet!
Soul Eater: Bones did nearly everything right so far. The humor was a little stale, but I liked the characters, and I absolutely loved the look of everything. The battles were cool and the idea of the partner as a weapon reminded me a bit of Jing and Kir. The plot of the first episode did tread on quite a few cliches and was rather predictable, but I’ll be sticking with it. Also, Maka is adorable.
And that’s all I care to talk about. If I skipped anything, I’ll throw it into a later post.
ya i watched the Sky Girls DVD Specials too. the ones about fishing. shows a funnier side of eika. ^^
Everything about the show reminded me a little of Jing myself, with the Nightmare look and all.
Also, it’s sad that you’re skipping out on Allison despite Kino being one of your alltime favorites…
Yeah, I’m sad about it too, but the fact of the matter is that I just can’t watch it. The appearance of the show is second only to the characters when choosing whether or not I’ll watch a show. The plot, humor, etc all come after that.
ToLoveRu is great because it reminds me of 90s anime for some reason
You should watch Golgo
I’m watching like, none of these shows except kurenai, and I basically agree with you on that one.
Well, I guess I’m watching Druaga too, and pretty much agree there, though I’ll probably keep watching it now, since I’m only watching 6 shows this season (and I had to dig deep to get that).
And yay for Otakon! :3 I had my hotel booked in, like, January lol.
